Hello, September! Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we navigate this unprecedented situation. As always, the health and safety of our Guests and Staff remain our highest priority. While the search for the escaped prisoner continues, with the focus moving further east and away from the Gardens, we are now able to open the Gardens to the public once again. Check our website for continued updates.
As we welcome you back there is so much to enjoy and experience in our Gardens this month. Join us for our final Members-Only Evening, learn more about upcoming youth workshops and activities for children, experience the spectacular Dahlia Show, and more!

Longwood Reimagined Continues |
Things are beginning to look a bit greener on our Longwood Reimagined site! Last week we planted 765 boxwood in front of what will be our new 1906 Restaurant and Event Space. The cultivar, Buxus NewGen Independence®, was selected for its leafminer and blight resistance characteristics and its similar appearance and growth to Buxus microphylla ‘Green Beauty’ found in the Main Fountain Garden. In the coming years, the boxwood, which came from Virginia-based nursery Saunders Brothers, will be trimmed and shaped by our talented horticulturists to match the billowy design style of the boxwood throughout the Main Fountain Garden. We can’t wait to share more highlights as we move ever closer to the fall 2024 debut of Longwood Reimagined!
Want to learn more about this expansive project? Join Longwood staff for an upcoming Longwood Reimagined Member Talk on September 14 at 6:30 pm.
