STOWE COUNTRY CLUB UPDATES

The weather lately has not been cooperative and to ensure the health of the new turf, we will be limiting play to begin the season. Opening day has not been determined at this time, but once play begins in early June, tee times will run from 8:00am - 7:00pm with the exception of Monday & Wednesday for members and accompanied guests only.

We will expand available tee times as soon as conditions allow. and we will not allow any unaccompanied play until the course is ready.

The use of golf carts will also be delayed until we are sure the course can handle the traffic.

TURF TALK

Repairing ball marks on putting greens is a simple yet crucial responsibility for golfers to maintain optimal playing conditions. The correct method involves inserting a repair tool behind the mark and gently pushing the surrounding turf toward the center, avoiding any lifting or twisting that could harm the grass roots. Neglecting to fix these marks can lead to prolonged surface damage, affecting ball roll and inviting weed growth. Greens that frequently receive high, lofted shots—such as those on par-3 holes—are particularly susceptible, especially under soft conditions. Fortunately, almost any pointed object, like a golf tee, can effectively repair a ball mark when used properly. By promptly addressing your own ball marks and a few others nearby, you contribute significantly to the course's upkeep and the enjoyment of all players.
