What to Expect:
Fall 2026 Priority Registration |
Priority Registration for Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 begins on April 13. This year, instead of using myOleMiss, students will register using Experience, the university’s new academic portal.
|
|
|
| A New Registration Experience |
When registration opens, students will use the Registration Self-Service card in Experience to search for and register for classes. This card will become available after April 6.
Experience introduces a more modern, self-service approach to registration, with tools that allow students to plan and manage their schedules more independently.

|
Here are a few important updates that may impact how you support students:
|
- A Self-Service Process
Students will now register themselves for all courses. Advisors and departments will no longer enroll students on their behalf (including for waitlists or overrides). - Course Numbers Are Changing
Courses now follow a new numbering format. This Course Crosswalk will help students and advisors map previous course numbers to the new structure. - Time Tickets
Students will be assigned a registration start time called a Time Ticket. Once their time ticket opens, they may register at any time through the add/drop deadline, provided they have no holds. - Registration PINs
Students will need a six-digit PIN (access code) from their academic advisor or department before they can register. Encourage students to watch for this and save it once received. -
Holds
Certain holds, such as the account receivable holds (from the Office of the Bursar), will prevent students from registering. Please encourage students to review and resolve any holds in advance. It is anticipated that students will be able to check for holds after March 30. - Plan Ahead
Students will be able to build a draft schedule (similar to favorites) in advance using Plan Ahead (anticipated launch: April 6). - Waitlisting
Waitlists now function as a queue for open seats. Joining a waitlist does not guarantee a student a spot in the course. If a seat becomes available, the student will receive an email and must register within a set amount of time. If they don’t act, the seat will be offered to the next student on the waitlist. - Overrides
Dean’s Offices and departments will manage the override process. Once an override is granted, the student will still need to register themselves for the course. - An Update on Conditional Booking
Conditional booking was a registration feature in myOleMiss. We no longer need this registration feature because Banner provides us with a similar job that the registrar’s office will run. So, students who are in courses for which they do not meet the prerequisites will still be dropped from the course prior to the start of the course.

|
Help Promote Summer Registration
If you’re working with students who plan to take summer classes, please encourage them to go ahead and register. Early registration will help to support a smoother transition between summer registration in myOleMiss and fall registration in Experience.
Encourage Early Action on Student Accounts.
Students with outstanding balances may have holds that prevent registration. A new billing statement will be available on April 15, and early payment can help avoid delays.
|
|
|
We’re here to support you and students throughout this transition.
