Homeless Connect event at Sac State provides a respite from the streets
Hundreds of people without stable housing converged on Sacramento State’s Folsom Hall on Saturday, Aug. 12, to connect with critical resources, obtain essential services such as health and dental screenings, and simply relax and enjoy a meal.
The event, Homeless Connect, was organized by Sac State software and data analyst Don Nahhas and his wife, Dawn, co-founders of the nonprofit group Josh's Heart.
“We have a commitment to supporting issues in our local community,” Sac State President Luke Wood said at the event. “And what could be more important than giving members of our unhoused population the care and love and support that they deserve?”
