Standing On Business: Following yesterday's (CAT 5/21) news of Universal Music Group's deal with Spotify, the label group has entered into a new global licensing agreement with TikTok. The deal builds on a 2024 partnership and follows a months-long standoff over royalties that led to UMG pulling its music from the platform. The multiyear licensing deal covers royalties from the label group's roster, and extends the companies' commitment to AI protections.
