iHeart Restructuring: Apparent restructuring is resulting in a number of cuts across iHeartMedia. Among the Country names are:
Area Pres./Texas-Arkansas Clyde Bass, who was upped to his most recent position in February (CAT 2/3). Bass had been with the company since 2012 after stops with Cumulus and Duke Broadcasting in Jonesboro, AR.
WNCB/Raleigh APD/afternoon host Nick Jordan. He'd been with the station since 2022 (CAT 7/5/22), following stops in Canton, OH, Akron, OH and College Station, TX. He says, "if you’re reading this and need an entertaining personality that’s big on community feel, free to reach out. I’m open to relocating." Reach him here.
Classic Country KMJX/Little Rock afternoon host/Online Content Dir. David "D.J." Taylor, who also hosted the Sunday night Homegrown Country Show on sister KSSN. He had been with KMJX since 2000.

Men Of Steel: With Steel City KFKF/Kansas City APD/MD and midday host Tony Stevens set to retire Dec. 20 (CAT 4/4), current Alpha WIBW/Topeka, KS morning host Jim Daniels will be returning to KFKF, where he previously worked as morning show producer from 1996-2006. Daniels will do afternoons, effective Jan. 6, while afternoon host Ed Walker will move to middays and add MD stripes.
Jan. 6 also marks the start of a re-launch for KFKF that will include new marketing, billboards, contests, imaging and jingles. Freeman Exits WFMS: Cumulus WFMS/Indianapolis Indy's Morning Show co-host Kevin Freeman has exited from the position he's held since he joined the station in August 1990. Co-hosts Deb Honeycutt and Matt Malone remain. As part of the WFMS morning show, he's won the Large Market Personality award four times from the CMA and three from the ACM. "I will miss my co-workers and the WFMS listening family," Freeman tells Country Aircheck. "It was a good 34-year run." Reach him here. |

The Gift Of NAB: Consumer Technology Association VP/Marketing Sean Perkins has joined the National Association of Broadcasters in the newly created role of Chief Marketing Officer & SVP/Global Connections and Events (GCE). "[Sean's] expertise in event marketing and digital transformation will help us elevate NAB Show and other key initiatives," says EVP & Managing Dir./GCE Karen Chupka, to whom Perkins will report. Perkins' previous stops include AOL, Amtrak, Intel and Neustar. |

Bits & Pieces: Saga’s Asheville, NC cluster, including Classic Country WTMT-HD3, raised more than $10,000 for Western North Carolina during the 12-hour-long “Rising Together” radiothon Oct. 30. Proceeds will benefit four local nonprofits, including MANNA Foodbank and the Asheville Humane Society.
Hubbard WIRK/West Palm Beach morning hosts Tim Leary and Chelsea Taylor organized "Operation Lunch Drop," delivering pizzas and drinks to families, volunteers and line crews clearing debris from properties damaged during Hurricane Milton. Miranda Lambert's MuttNation-Tractor Supply Relief for Rescues Fund has made initial donations totaling $250,000 to help 32 animal shelters and organizations impacted by the recent hurricanes. The fund was established in 2023 and has raised more than $1 million to date.
