Chess Club for Kids

Monday, October 16th

5:00 pm | LBK Auditorium

Discover the basics, cool tricks, strategies, and tactics in chess with a certified chess coach from ChessKidsNation. Chess Club meets on the 3rd Monday each month. All skill levels are welcome and supplies will be provided. Open to K - 8th grade students.

Registration is encouraged to ensure we have enough supplies for everyone.

Writing Workshop for Kids: The Skull

Thursday, October 19th

4:00 pm | LBK Auditorium

Join us for a creative writing workshop as we make alternate endings for "The Skull: A Tyrolean Folktale" by Jon Klassen. During this program, we will read the story together and pause to create our own endings before learning how Klassen concludes his book.

Teen Advisory Board

Tuesday, October 17

4:00 pm | Cahaba Meeting Room

The Teen Advisory Board is a place for local teens to get involved with their library. At TAB meetings, we will discuss popular books, movies, shows, and what you would like to see in our collection. We will also discuss programming and take part in projects to benefit the library. Light snacks provided. Open to 8th to 12 grade.

Halloween Trivia Night

Monday, October 30

4:30 pm | LBK Auditorium

Join us for a fun night of Halloween-themed trivia. Make sure to wear a Halloween costume. Prizes will be awarded to the best costume and trivia winners! This program is open to teens in 6th - 12th grades.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Trivia Night

Monday, October 9th

6:30 pm | LBK Auditorium

Do you think you know everything there is to know about Buffy and the Scoobies? Get a team together and test your knowledge against other fans. There will be prizes awarded to the best team name, best costume, and a grand prize for the trivia champions.

Adult Book Club
