Calling all graduate students with a passion for scientific mentorship! Consider mentoring a local high school student through the Young Researchers Program.

YRP is a summer research program that pairs rising high school seniors from under-represented demographics in STEM with USC graduate students to develop and execute a research project. Almost 200 YRP students have gone onto college over the 10+ years of this program’s existence, and many have attributed this program as being instrumental in preparing them in their collegiate endeavors. We hope you will participate in helping shape the futures of aspiring scientists!

As a mentor, you will provide invaluable research experience for a highly motivated student and help them prepare for college over a six-week period. This entails working with the student for ~15 hours per week, which includes conducting a research project and editing drafts of the student's college application essays. The program will run from June 16th to July 25th, 2025 and you will be paid $300.00 for your time.

If you are interested in mentoring through YRP, please fill out this interest form. Please also join us for Zoom-based mentor information sessions for more details regarding the program:
