Meet Nikita: Mom built career in medical field to provide foundation for purchase of Habitat home 

Nikita is working her way through her list of life goals. Go back to school? Check. Get on a successful career path? Check. Purchase a home? That’s where Habitat Orlando & Osceola comes in. 

Nikita said purchasing her Habitat home with an affordable mortgage will free her from constantly rising rents and give her daughter a stable place to call home.

“I'm looking forward to her just having a stable place that she can grow up in, and when she goes off to college she'd come home to that same place … Just knowing that ... it’s just the best thing.”

The session will cover an array of hurricane prep resources from local subject experts, including officials from City of Orlando's Emergency Management department. By attending, you'll also be entered into drawings to win a disaster kit worth $300 including a weather radio, 16-foot by 20-foot tarp, solar power bank and solar fan! Celebrating New Homeowner Day!

What better way to celebrate New Homeowner Day (May 1) than to highlight a few of our newest Habitat homeowners!
Jonwan & Kumarie, Vivian & Mark, and Willie all recently closed on the purchase of their brand new, affordable Habitat homes.
"Home is where the heart is," Vivian said. "It is a haven from the world, a safe place to be in which a family can thrive for generations to come."
All three families are happy to be free from rising rents and to have a place of their own to call home.
