Department offers federal work-study positions; Hollywood tuba player supports scholarship; late grad’s estate gift benefits counseling students; and more

Student organizations, departments, offices, and more can sponsor a home volleyball game this fall at no cost. Sponsorship includes recognition over the public-address system during the game and a shout-out on social media. Groups can also set up a table for extra publicity. President Michael Driscoll offers condolences on the death of Tonee Ellis, of Oaks, a senior biology major with a concentration in ecology, conservation, and evolution. Tonee died August 1.
UNIVERSITY NEWS
Each semester, the Madia Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, and Engineering hires 14 to 16 federal work-study students to help with laboratory prep, stockroom management, tutoring, research, and more. Selections are made in August for fall and in November for spring. Apply by searching “chemistry” on the Student Employment website
