Dell Med faculty are invited to apply for our new award opportunity aimed at supporting faculty development. Awardees will receive up to $8,000 for trainings that enhance their leadership potential or promotion progress in alignment with their career goals.

| Attend: Charting a Successful Career in Academic Medicine |
In our spring faculty onboarding event, Elizabeth Matsui will provide tailored insights and guidance for faculty promotion preparation and resources. A panel of department chairs — Kevin Bozic, Leah Harris, Jane Edmond and David Paydarfar — will discuss how to effectively collaborate with your chair to advance your career goals and build a fruitful career in academic medicine, including meaningful service and development opportunities available at various stages of your career at Dell Med and UT. All faculty are encouraged to attend. Dinner will be provided.

Improving Faculty Competence in Assessment & Feedback in GME
|
Dell Med, UT Health San Antonio and San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium are collaborating with the ACGME for a regional faculty development opportunity dedicated to the needs of academic physicians. This focused three-day course explores competency-based medical education and includes hands-on activities to develop faculty competencies in assessment, including direct observation.

Dell Med and the IC² Institute are co-funding research projects of four cross-campus teams to develop artificial intelligence solutions that will improve health outcomes and reduce health disparities. Each team is receiving up to $150,000.

The Dell Med chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society inducted new members, selected by medical students for their dedication to humanism in providing patient care.

PI Crash Course: Skills for Future or New Lab Leaders
|
This course for new principal investigators is a two-day intensive boot camp of seminars, discussions and hands-on activity sessions to provide exposure to fundamental leadership and management skills and tools needed for success in a lab. The activity is hosted by Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health.
