Jon Smith Presents Video Project to Prime Minister
A creative research project spearheaded by Professor of Communication Jon Smith and co-producer Anne Smith, from the Office of Learning Abroad, was presented to the Prime Minister and cabinet members of the Kingdom of Eswatini. The project resulted in a powerful 3-4 minute proposal video for a planned national trails network.

Bringing Financial Literacy to Elementary Schools 
Students enrolled in the Tax I course at the Dixie L. Leavitt School of Business are making an impact by volunteering with Junior Achievement, a nonprofit organization that promotes financial literacy and career readiness among K-12 students.

Trumpet Ensemble
RED Trumpet Ensemble Advances to Quarterfinals
SUU's RED Trumpet Ensemble has advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2026 National Trumpet Competition, marking a significant achievement for our Department of Music. The live rounds of the competition will be held in March, at the University of Iowa.

Costa Rica Trip
Costa Rica Trip with STEM

As we prepare to return to the Big Sky Conference this July, it is only fitting to look back on the 2015 football season, which stands as one of the most successful campaigns in program history. Culminating in football's first-ever Big Sky Conference Championship, that team posted a 7-1 conference record and earned a spot in the FCS Playoffs.

Alumnus Dwain Veach was recently appointed as the State Geologist of North Carolina. With 27 years of experience in the geosciences, Dwain is well-equipped for his new role as he collaborates with state and federal programs to preserve the health of the environment and the public in North Carolina.
