The Charter Schools Week 2025 celebration will be May 12-16. It's the perfect time to spread the word about why you love your charter public school.
Also, don't miss Charter Day at the Capitol on May 6, 2025, hosted by MAPSA. It's the biggest gathering of charter public school supporters in the state!

Results of 2025 CSO Stakeholder Satisfaction Survey |
Thank you to the 160 board members, school leaders, and EMO representatives who provided feedback on our work this year. Overall, average stakeholder scores for the CSO were 4.5 or higher (out of 5) in the following categories:

- Informing schools about policy changes (4.82)
- Communication about charter contract renewal (4.80)
- Overall satisfaction with oversight (4.76)
- Overall satisfaction with additional supports and resources (4.55)

The CSO could continue to improve upon schools’ familiarity with CSO supports and resources (4.36) and use of CSO supports and resources (3.57) across all stakeholders.

Scholarship application window closing soon |
Don't miss your chance to use the CSO's Continuing Education Scholarship toward GVSU courses during the spring and summer. Scholarships can provide up to 80% tuition coverage, depending on eligibility. All applications are due by 8:00 p.m. on April 18.

Photo Contest submission deadline extended to April 25 |
We're giving educators in GVSU-authorized charter public schools additional time to capture incredible teaching and learning moments. The grand prize this year is $1,000 to be used toward classroom materials and supports.

College Prep Week 2025 applications are filling fast |
Students in GVSU's charter high schools are invited to attend College Prep Week this summer! College Prep Week attendees learn what it is like to a be a Laker while exploring what it takes to succeed in college.
Students can attend in person from June 22-27 or virtually from July 13-18. Space is limited.

Invitations for School Working Conditions survey coming on 4/7 | The CSO annually invites nearly 2,000 educators in GVSU charter schools to participate in the School Working Environment Survey.
The survey is a voluntary and confidential way for educators to share how they feel about working in their school. Aggregate responses are then shared by the end of the school year (see example of report).
Educators will receive their initial survey invitation on April 7. The survey window will stay open until May 9.
