Celebrating David Lawrence's 14 Years with CTL

After 14 years of dedicated service at Tech, David Lawrence retired from his position as associate director of the Center on June 30th. Since joining CTL in 2011, Lawrence's unwavering commitment to meaningful learning, effective instruction, and excellent teaching has shaped campus culture. In particular, Lawrence has supported and championed Georgia Tech's teaching assistants and postdoctoral scholars through countless courses, workshops, consultations, and orientations. Join us as we wish Dr. Lawrence the best in this new chapter!

Microsoft Accessibility Tools

July 8, July 29, August 5, 10-11 a.m., Virtual

Join CTL and the Center for Inclusive Design and Innovation for a three-part webinar series. These virtual workshops will help faculty create accessible instructional materials using the latest accessibility tools in Microsoft Office. Webinars will demonstrate how to meet updated ADA Title II legal requirements and address the needs of all students. Join one, two, or all three workshops!

Canvas Campaigns

July 28 & 29, noon-4 p.m., Virtual

Join us for an epic journey as we navigate course design and delivery in Canvas during this two-day, gamified workshop. With the Canvas Course Template as your guide, you’ll begin building a course site that utilizes Canvas to its maximum potential, easing your teaching burdens and better supporting student learning.

TA Development Academy

Learn best practices, build community, and ask questions at the annual TA Development Academy! We'll discuss grading techniques, student well-being, office hours, and more. All new and returning TAs are encouraged to attend.

Class of 1969 Teaching Fellows

Applications Due August 8

Applications are open for the 2025-26 Class of 1969 Teaching Fellows Program, which gathers interdisciplinary early career faculty for pedagogically-focused support and professional development. Fellows will learn evidence-based best practices and gain exposure to innovative teaching methods.

Hesburgh Fellows

Applications Due August 15

Nominations are open for the 2025–26 Hesburgh Award Teaching Fellows Program, supporting faculty leaders in teaching. This year’s focus is Discipline-Based Education Research. Fellows will receive support to explore teaching and learning in their fields.

Teaching with Technology Partnerships

Applications Due August 29

Do you have a teaching and learning problem that technology can help solve? We're accepting Teaching with Technology Partnership proposals exploring creative technological uses and solutions to existing course struggles. Partners receive a year of hands-on guidance from CTL as they develop, implement, and assess new projects.
