Oracle Cloud Updates

Prepare for Oracle Update 21D on November 19-20

Testing is underway for the new release of Oracle Cloud update 21D, and additional information regarding applicable updates and new features will be shared over the course of the next few weeks via user group meetings, in-system guidance, email and/or MyVU as applicable.

Scheduled Downtime

The quarterly upgrade will begin at 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov 19, and continue through Saturday, Nov 20.

A downtime notice will be displayed on our website while the upgrade and testing are underway and will be removed when these activities are complete and the system is available to all users.

HCM Specialists & Approvers: Select training session to prepare for updates in Oracle HCM

Training sessions for HCM Specialists and BU/E Approvers are now available for enrollment to assist you in preparing to use Quick Actions and mobile-responsive pages for creating and submitting HCM transactions, which will be replacing the use of Person Management as the launching point for completing these activities.

Enroll in an HCM Release 21D update training session

The Employee Records and OCI teams will also hold open office hours weekly on Thursdays from 3-4:30p beginning on Nov. 18 through December (excluding holiday weeks). Office hours will be held via Zoom - detailed dates and links are posted to the VU Shared Administrative Dates calendar.

Important Info and Reminders

Resources for recording Holiday time

As the holiday season approaches, please ensure that biweekly employees and student workers are submitting time cards prior to departing for holiday breaks.

In addition, eligible biweekly staff must record holiday time on their time cards in order to receive pay. Instructions and examples of recording holidays - including holidays worked - is available in the Oracle Cloud My Knowledge app. (Note: Remember to sign in to Oracle via Company Single Sign-On).

Financial Unit Managers, HCM Specialists and BU/E Approvers

FUMs, HCM Specialists, Approvers and other enrollees should access the Oracle Cloud Continuing Education: Financials and Core HR User Group 2021 series in Oracle Learning to download details for the final 2021 session on Thursday, Nov 11, and view recordings and materials for previous sessions 21A, 21B and 21C.

Procurement Requesters

Procurement Requesters and other users should access the Oracle Cloud Continuing Education: Procurement User Group series to view Sessions 21A and 21B if they have not already done so. The final 2021 session 21D will be published in November.

(Note: Given the recertification training during July-Sept 2021, there was no Session 21C.)
