Join a Group and Start Healing: Student Counseling Center Fall Therapy Groups

The Student Counseling Center will offer three unique six-week therapy groups this fall, designed to support students through guided conversations and peer connection in a confidential, supportive setting. Groups include: El Camino de First-Gen, Grief Talks: Hope After Loss and Hey, Are We OK? (Healthy Relationships).

Each group meets weekly for 1.5 hours and runs from the week of October 13 through November 20. These are closed groups—once they begin, no new members can join—so early enrollment is required.

Students must contact the Student Counseling Center by Monday, Oct. 13 to schedule a brief screening and reserve a spot.

While groups are advertised on JagSync, students must contact the Counseling Center directly to protect confidentiality. Call 210-784-1331 or stop by Madla 120 to sign up.

Camarillo Family Establishes Scholarship in Memory of Daughter

Carlos and Christine Camarillo are honoring the legacy of their daughter, Victoria, through the newly established Victoria Christine Camarillo Endowed Scholarship. Victoria passed away last July at just 18 years old, only a few months after being diagnosed with leukemia. Victoria had also lived with Williams Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder. Despite these challenges, she had a remarkable life and was planning to enroll in A&M–San Antonio’s Tu Casa program, which offers students with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to experience university life.
