One month left to apply for a SIREN Engagement Grant

Applications are due on July 31, 2023 for SIREN's Engagement Grants, small two-year grants focused on supporting partnerships between social care researchers and lived experience experts. For more information, see the Request for Applications and the informational webinar held on June 6th.

New results from the Accountable Health Communities (AHC) model evaluation

The second national evaluation report on the AHC model has been released! One key takeaway is that the intervention—navigation to community resources among individuals with at least 2 ED visits in the past year—was associated with statistically significant reductions in ED visits for both Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries. Those findings need to be interpreted in light of the fact that the analyses showed no statistically significant differences in connections to social services or resolution of needs. Comment on re-design of CMS social needs screening measures
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has contracted with Yale's Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CORE) to develop a re-designed electronic clinical quality measure (eCQM) evaluating hospitals on screening and following-up on patients social needs. CORE is currently requesting comments on candidate measures until 11:59 PM EST on July 2, 2023. See the proposed measures and comment instructions here.
