Baton Rouge Health District Opportunity
|
The Baton Rouge Health District has been awarded a combined $2 million from the Louisiana Department of Health’s H.E.R.O. Fund and local contributions, to grow its BRHireD workforce program. This effort will recruit, train, and place 100 medical assistants into jobs at leading hospitals across the Capital Region. This initiative unites 14 regional partners, including health systems, colleges, and nonprofits, to offer free tuition, support services, and stipends that help participants succeed. The Baton Rouge Area Foundation is proud to support this effort to build a stronger healthcare workforce and regional economy.

Zachary Virtual Learning Program
|
ZVLP is an alternative to traditional public school, where students access standards-based courses facilitated by highly qualified/certified instructors through an online format. Courses can be completed through a varied pace curriculum that is solely aligned to the ability of an individual student. The courses can be completed anytime/anywhere and are progress monitored through a series of benchmark tests as well as a culminating exam that proves mastery of the content. Upon completion, a student can earn a Zachary High School diploma.
