Have you ever seen an unhoused person on the street and thought, “They just need to get a job!”? Did you know you can’t get a job without an ID? You can’t rent an apartment without an ID. You can’t get government benefits such as Social Security or VA without an ID. You can’t get a birth certificate without an ID and you can’t get an ID without a birth certificate. And you can’t get any of these without a street mailing address, which you can’t get ..you guessed it…without an ID.
The unhoused face many obstacles on their road to getting their lives back on track because they have no means to navigate the systems in place. That’s where Navigation Services of Georgetown comes in to help!
Join us on Sunday, June 1 at 10:00 in the church office area to hear Michele Augustine tell us how this non-profit assists the unhoused with whatever needs they may have. You’ll find out about the systemic problems, as well as how our Christian community can help. For more information, contact Beverly Smythia at 409-351-8332 or bsmythia@gmail.com.

TRANSforming Church Culture:Becoming Trans Inclusive
What is it?
During two Sunday afternoon sessions, we will cover some basic truths about transgender people and learn how the bible beckons us to support transgender folks in our community. In our first session, we will begin with a meet and greet, and then reflect on the use of language and the importance of ensuring safety and autonomy for our trans neighbors. And in our second session, we will expand our focus to reflect on experiences of trans individuals both inside and outside our walls.
Who is it for?
This training is for those who have some awareness of trans justice but are wanting to go from allies to advocates, as well as exploring how Wellspring can be a more welcoming place for God's children of any gender.
When and where?
This event will take place at Wellspring on two Sunday afternoons in June. In order to invite as much participation as possible, we will determine the dates based on availability of those who register.
How do I sign up?

Special Offering - Reconciling Ministries Network
This June, Wellspring celebrates our 8 year anniversary as a member of the Reconciling Ministries Network (RMN). Learn more about RMN here.
While our denomination has made great strides toward inclusiveness there is still much work to do in order for us to live into that spirit. Your support of RMN moves us in that direction!
To donate, mark your special offering "RMN." Thank you in advance for your support.
