| New Free Clinical Resources from Americares Explore Post-COVID Conditions, Treatment, and Research
| |
Nearly half of Americans with post-COVID conditions (PCC) turn to their doctors for guidance. Staying current on this rapidly evolving field can be a challenge, so NHCHC is proud to partner with Americares to help distribute their newly developed educational materials for health care professionals.
- Unmask the Facts: Post-COVID Conditions Monthly Research Roundup Unmask the Facts is a monthly research round-up which synthesizes and summarizes some of the most talked about research into PCC, providing providers with a concise and up-to-date overview of the latest findings.
- PCC Resources These posters (available in PDF format) and other resources include information about relevant research organizations, patient support groups, a conversation guide, a symptom refresher, and more. These will allow you to easily access the latest PCC research and connect your patients and care providers with valuable information and support.
- Online Learning Series: Diagnosing & Treating PCC Feeling lost on diagnosing or treating PCC? Join us to learn more! Americares has partnered with ECHO Chicago at the University of Chicago to offer an online learning series about PCC tailored especially for primary care providers in the safety net sector. You can register for the series here, view the schedule of upcoming sessions online here, and access session recordings below.

| HRSA Announces New Access Points
| |
HRSA announced recently that applications to establish New Access Points (NAPs) are now open to expand access to affordable, high-quality primary health care, including mental health and substance use disorder services, for underserved communities and populations. HRSA will only be able to make awards for this Notice of Funding Opportunity if Congress appropriates additional funds for the Health Center Program in fiscal year (FY) 2025.
HRSA-funded health centers operate more than 15,000 service sites nationwide. If Congress appropriates additional funding in FY 2025, these NAPs will expand the number of health centers in the HRSA Health Center Program and help HRSA-funded health centers open new locations. NAP applicants may be currently funded health centers, look-alikes, or new organizations (those not yet part of the Health Center Program).
Applications are due in Grants.gov on Aug. 15, 2024, and in HRSA’s Electronic Handbooks on Sept. 30, 2024. Visit the New Access Points webpage for the Notice of Funding Opportunity and resources to help develop your application.

June 26: RCPN Coffee Chat — Navigating Ethical Dilemmas in Medical Respite
2 p.m. CDT
Medical respite care is the incredible opportunity to provide space for healing and recuperation. However, because of the many medical and behavioral health needs that are a result of homelessness combined with a lack of community resources, programs may be faced with challenging decisions and ethical dilemmas. Often in these cases, there is not a clear-cut pathway or decision, but instead programs and staff must carefully consider options that manage the safety and health of all medical respite clients and staff. This Coffee Chat presents an opportunity for the medical respite community to come together to discuss ethical dilemmas that can present with programs, and identify strategies to support staff in addressing these dilemmas through collaboration. ✅ REGISTER HERE FOR THIS COFFEE CHAT
