A quiet day today at the Capitol for public education.  No bills bills were heard by either chamber.  Next week is the final week for the 2025 General Assembly.  Legislators will be in session Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  Friday, April 4 is the final day of the session.

A scheduled hearing of the Senate Public Safety Committee, to consider two bills pertaining to school safety zones and the use of speed detection cameras or red-light cameras, was cancelled today.

The House Health Committee will meet on Monday, March 31 to hear SB 39, a bill that precludes the State Heath Benefit Plan from covering gender-affirming procedures.
GAE bill filed to create a study committee on waivers

State Sen. Sonya Halpern has filed SR 476 to create a Senate study committee on school district waivers.  The proposal has bi-partisan support.
