Grand Valley State University

Dear Academic Affairs Faculty and Staff Colleagues:

Following up on last week’s message, we invite you to join one of the upcoming COACHE sessions across our campuses and virtually over the next two weeks. At the sessions, faculty facilitators will provide a brief overview of the COACHE survey and report, followed by a discussion of its findings. The goal is to explore how faculty and administrators can work together to build on our strengths and address concerns identified in the survey.

These sessions are open to all faculty and staff. Additionally, the COACHE Steering Committee will organize, at a later date, other sessions for collaborative opportunities with Senior Leadership Team and Provost’s Cabinet members. All of these sessions aim to engage with survey findings to create achievable action plans and strengthen relationships between faculty, staff, and university leadership.

Along with these sessions, the Steering Committee has prepared a new document that provides more details about the identified strengths and concerns in the Preview Report. Our Interpreting COACHE Areas of Strength and Concern document includes the components attached to each area identified in the report, with data on GVSU responses and comparative data with other schools.

Dates, times and locations for the COACHE sessions are as follows. Register for a session online; if registering for the October 15 virtual meeting, a Zoom invite will be sent.
