IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON THE POWERSCHOOL DATA BREACH
As you may be aware, a recent cybersecurity incident involving PowerSchool, a software vendor which provides St. Vincent de Paul's Student Information System, involved unauthorized access to certain PowerSchool data.
SVdP has determined that a small percentage of students who left (either through graduation or transfer) St. Vincent de Paul School between the 2004-2005 and 2013-2014 school years had SSNs exposed during the breach. Students leaving SVdP during 2014-2015 and later were not affected.
Because contact information for students and families from one or two decades ago may not be reliable today, we are asking for assistance via various communications channels.
If you think you or your child or someone you know may have been part of the affected group, please contact SVdP Technology Coordinator Ray Bentzen by email at bentzenr@svdpomaha.org; be sure to include the name and current email address of the affected student. He will confirm whether or not that student's SSN information was part of the breach.
If the student's SSN information was part of the breach, Mr. Bentzen will provide a link to sign up for credit monitoring and identity protection services being provided at no charge by PowerSchool for two years.
Thank you for your time and attention.
