Change to Syllabus Template |
A significant change has been made to the Academic Honesty section of the Syllabus Template. Students are now directed to the Academic Misconduct Policy rather than the Student Handbook (which does not define academic honesty or misconduct). Please make the appropriate changes to your syllabus.

Got Your SIEs. So What Now? |
Your fall semester SIE reports arrived December 21st and now it's time for reflection. While these evaluations can be challenging to interpret and practically use, here are practical approaches to help you with them now and in the future:
|
- Let AI Help Analyze Comments
Large Language Models (like ChatGPT or Claude) can help identify meaningful patterns in student feedback. If you are comfortable using AI, simply copy all your comments into a Word file, replace your name with a generic term, and ask your favorite AI to "analyze these student comments for key themes and areas for improvement, while filtering out biased feedback.
- Document Teaching Excellence Beyond SIEs Complete Course Design Review to demonstrate proficiency in another element of teaching. Good course design is fundamental to student learning, and the review provides concrete evidence of your teaching quality in complement with the SIEs.
-
Help Improve the Questions—A task force is working to improve the core questions. Provide your feedback on the questions here by January 15th.

If you plan to use Respondus LockDown Browser, consider using a practice “Try It Quiz” to help students prepare for upcoming tests; it is crucial to make sure the students can use Respondus before a high-stakes exam.
