Good Teaching Always
Starts with a Plan
|
Demonstrate your thoughtful course design, gain some helpful feedback regarding best practices, and receive tangible evidence of your commitment to teaching. Submit your course for Course Design Review (CDR)!
To get started, make a copy (File menu > make a copy) of this worksheet and review the criteria and questions you will need to answer.
Have questions? Want some help getting started? Email ELTC at helpdesk@uah.edu to connect with an instructional designer to answer any questions you have.

Does Your Zoom Session
End in 40 Minutes? |
If your Zoom session ends at 40 minutes, you do not have a licensed account. Faculty (including GTAs) and staff qualify for a licensed account of Zoom. This allows you to run a Zoom session for up to 30 hours for 300 people. Contact ETLC at helpdesk@uah.edu and ask for a licensed account today.

Keep your UAH Applications Updated for Better Accessibility |
UAH faculty and staff are encouraged to keep Microsoft 365 Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro updated to the most current versions. Updates often include improved accessibility features, enhanced accessibility checkers, bug fixes, and tools that make it easier to create documents, presentations, spreadsheets, and PDFs that meet accessibility expectations.
|
Using the latest versions helps ensure you have access to the most reliable tools for checking headings, reading order, alt text, color contrast, tables, PDF tags, and other important accessibility elements. Taking a few minutes to update your applications now can save time later and help support more accessible digital content for all learners.

ETLC Documentation
Remediation Service -
We only have a little more capacity |
For a few more weeks, ETLC is offering a document accessibility remediation service for faculty and staff on a first-come, first-served basis. We have remediated over 1,000 pages so far. But we will only be able to do this for a few more weeks.
Proofread your documents and get them in as soon as possible. Submit your document through our online request form - one form for each document.
We will no longer accept documents after August 5th.

Five Weeks till Classes Start!
Is Your Digital Course Material Accessible Yet? |
Fall digital course content must be accessible. ETLC is here to help!
Your checklist for summer:
-
Complete the Panorama training module in Mission Accessible course (must complete Launch module to view).
-
Check out the document remediation modules to get guidelines on how to get started with document checking.
- Click on Panorama in your course navigation menu and work there.
-
Make an appointment to work one-on-one with our accessibility specialist on Zoom or in person.
|
Complete the Mission Accessible Training Soon |
To meet the federal guidelines, we need to make digital resources accessible and demonstrate we are training our personnel. Please complete the Launch module in Mission Accessible to access the training modules. The training is meant to tell you what you need to do and how to use the software we have to do it.
|
Tracking Software Updates |
With so many software tools talking to each other daily, keeping up with updates that rarely sync can feel overwhelming. Ever wonder what a particular update addresses — and how it might affect your workflow? Track updates and new features for UAH software including Canvas, Zoom, ScreenPal, Turnitin, Qualtrics, and Panopto on the Newsletters and Release Notes page of the ETLC website.
