Office 365 Has Replaced
Office 2021 in the Classrooms |
Microsoft Office 365 has replaced Microsoft Office 2021 on classroom computers in order to provide a more robust and reliable experience for faculty.
What You Will Do Differently
Follow these instructions to launch a Microsoft program in Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote) on the classroom computers.
-
When you open your program of choice, you will be prompted to login to your Office 365 account. If you don’t have an account, follow the steps below to create one.
- Login with your Microsoft account to use all the functions in the software on the classroom computers.
-
(Note: You do not have to login in order to run a PowerPoint presentation. However, your access will be read-only. No editing or saving features are available in Office 365 without logging in.)
Office 365 Account Creation
Every faculty member can create a free Office 365 account under the UAH license. If you don’t already have an account, we encourage you to create one! This will unlock the full capabilities of Office 365 to you in the classroom. Once you log onto your account on a classroom computer, it will store that login in your profile.

Requesting Software For Your Classroom Computers |
Any software installed on classroom computers in the instructor podiums must go through an External Tool (LTI) approval process that includes a cybersecurity and legal review.
To start the process, complete this form and you will be emailed further instructions.
Note: This process will take ~3–6 months to complete depending on vendor responsiveness. Also, very little freeware will meet the criteria needed to be installed.
Software used on a personal device in the classroom does not have to be reviewed.
