It’s That Time of Year — Join Us for Our Annual Spring Essentials Drives
Spring has arrived, and with it comes one of the most meaningful efforts in HomeAid’s Community Engagement program: our annual spring baby and youth essentials drives. Across the country, HomeAid Affiliates are kicking off this vital initiative, rallying communities to collect diapers, wipes, and other essential baby items for families experiencing homelessness.
For many parents living in shelters or transitional housing, diapering their baby becomes a daily challenge. Government assistance programs like SNAP or WIC do not cover diapers, making them a critical—and costly—need that too often goes unmet. In fact, one in three U.S. families struggles to afford enough diapers to keep their babies clean, dry, and healthy.
That’s why this campaign matters.
The Essentials Drives are more than a donation collection—it’s a declaration of support for vulnerable families. It’s a chance for homebuilders, businesses, schools, and individuals to come together to support parents and children in crisis. Over the years, I’ve watched pallets of diapers fill warehouse spaces and community drop-off events overflow with generosity. Each diaper, each baby wipe, represents hope—and a reminder to these families that they’re not alone.
Through your support last year, we provided hundreds of thousands of diapers to shelters, housing programs, and nonprofit partners across the country. This year, we’re aiming even higher—and we need your help to achieve that goal.
I invite you to be part of this important effort.
- Host a diaper drive at your workplace, place of worship, or community group.
- Donate diapers or wipes through a local affiliate.
- Spread the word on social media and help us amplify the need.
Together, we can meet this very real need—and ensure that every baby has a better, healthier start.
Thank you for joining us in this powerful season of giving.
With gratitude,
Scott Larson
