The Iowa Finance Authority (IFA) has officially opened the doors to our statewide search for Iowa’s first Chief Door Opener! Applications are now open, but only until the end of this month.
We’re looking for an aspiring homebuyer with true main character energy—someone who can bring people along on the journey, educate and delight audiences across Iowa, and share the real moments, lessons, and milestones that come with pursuing homeownership. One selected participant will win $10,000 while helping inspire others to take their own first step.

As a trusted partner, you have the keys to help us find the right person. Think about the people you meet who plan to buy a home in 2026 and have the personality, presence, and story others would want to follow. A few exceptions apply, including immediate family members of participating lender or Realtor® partners.
While purchasing a home is not required to participate, it is certainly encouraged as part of the journey.
