Faculty and course instructors may see a few new icons next to their Canvas course content. Those icons display a visual summary of the course accessibility score provided by the recently introduced Panorama Digital Accessibility platform.
Panorama launched May 11th to support accessible and inclusive digital course design. Ongoing training and support for Panorama is provided jointly through the ILC, CELT, and the Office for Campus Accessibility (OCA).

- Blue circle icon: Accessibility icon (Student View)
- Green hexagon icon: High accessibility scores

"Digi-Tools" Helps First-Year Students Start the Semester Tech-Ready |

Incoming first-year students received an early introduction to Tulane’s digital learning resources during the recent Hello Hullabaloo "Digi-Tools to Make College Click" new-student orientation sessions, hosted by the Innovative Learning Center (ILC) and the Value in Virtual Access (VIVA) student organization.
|
|
|
|
| If you have more than 20 students in your class, Top Hat can help you take attendance quickly using the Canvas-integrated course tools already available to you.
Students can check in from their phones, browsers, or by text message, which helps you reclaim class time, reduce manual roll-taking, and keep a more accurate attendance record.
|
|
|
|
Top Hat attendance data can also help you spot patterns in participation, identify absent or at-risk students earlier, and keep attendance records organized alongside other course activity.

Why AI Detection Cannot Be the Foundation of Academic Integrity |

Generative AI changed what a submitted assignment means.
For decades, a paper or written response served as evidence that a student had done the thinking behind it. The system was never airtight. Students plagiarized, hired others, or skimmed a reading and still submitted passable work. Even so, the finished product usually carried enough instructional signal to support grading. That assumption is much weaker now, and most faculty already recognize it.
Students use AI for brainstorming, outlining, drafting, revision, source summaries, grammar, citations, and entire sections of text. Some uses violate course policy. Some are allowed. Others fall into a gray area shaped by the instructor, assignment, and course. The greatest concern for many faculty is simple: AI can make shallow understanding look like polished writing.
