Music educator goes to the end of the earth for her students

Alum Lisa Werner, a dedicated music educator and band director, goes above and beyond to inspire her students. From playing a purple trombone in zero gravity to exploring Antarctica as a National Geographic Grosvenor Teacher Fellow, her passion for education brings unique and enriching experiences to the classroom.

Special Olympics Summer Games return to UW-Whitewater 

For the third consecutive year, UW-Whitewater will welcome thousands of Special Olympics athletes, family and friends for the State Summer Games, scheduled for June 5-7 on the Whitewater campus. This Saturday, the Polar Plunge — a fundraiser that supports the organization — returns to Whitewater Aquatic Center.

Inclusivity Forum this week 

Join the Chancellor's Cabinet and campus colleagues for a panel on fostering inclusivity for neurodivergent individuals this Wednesday, March 12, in the James R. Conner University Center Ballroom. The first forum, scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to noon, is open to all, and the second, slated for 1 to 2:30 p.m., is student-focused. Hear from neurodivergent advocates, educators, and professionals on creating supportive, inclusive environments.

Learn about the power of compound interest, different types of retirement accounts, and how to start saving for retirement this Tuesday, March 11, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Hyland Hall room 2203. Free pizza provided for attendees.

Hypnotist at the UC Thursday 

Get ready for an unforgettable night with Hypnotist Chris Jones this Thursday, March 13, at 7 p.m. in the UC Hamilton Room! As seen on Penn & Teller: Fool Us, Good Day Chicago, The Steve Harvey Morning Show, America's Got Talent, and Windy City Live, Chris Jones will leave you amazed with his mind-blowing hypnotism skills. This event is FREE and in conjunction with Greek Week.

Six members of the men's swimming and diving team garnered all-conference honors for their performances on February 19-22 at the 2025 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deer.

Eight students helped lead UW-Whitewater’s Institute for Sales Excellence sales team to first-place showings at sales competitions in Florida and Ohio.
