Interview Season

Best of luck to all those who are interviewing during this season! As soon as you are aware of an interview date, submit an absence request here if you'll be in a course at the time. If you miss more than 2 days in a course, make sure to discuss a make-up plan with your course director. If you are expecting to miss more than 3 days during a course, consider using a FLEX month.

WELCOME NEW STAFF MEMBER

Please welcome Ashley Anderson! Ashley is the newest staff member of the Immersion Phase team, joining us as an associate program coordinator focusing on the Integrated Science Courses (ISCs). She recently moved here from Birmingham, AL. She earned her bachelor's in Global Studies and a certificate in teaching English from Taylor University and most recently worked as an English teacher with 2nd and 3rd graders in Budapest, Hungary.

Ashley knew that she wanted to stay in education, so she pursued a career in higher education, which brought her to Vanderbilt. As someone who was never much for STEM herself, Ashley loves working with all types of students and helping them pursue their passions. She loves travelling and went to numerous places when she lived in Europe. If you have any recommendations for where Ashley should go next, please let her know! Ashley can be reached at immersion.phase@vanderbilt.edu.

Transportation to Clinical Sites Policy

The continued expansion of Vanderbilt Health brings new opportunities for students to work at off-campus clinics. As a reminder, the policy states that "students should be prepared to travel up to 35 miles from the [VUSM] campus to reach assigned clinical sites (maximum of 70 miles round trip per day). Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from all clinical sites for educational experiences, including all costs associated with that travel."

Parking at One Hundred Oaks

Once your clinical assignment is confirmed at OHO, please request a parking pass. OHO has asked for this to help reduce the number of parking pass requests coming in at once. Please complete the form here and contact Daravanh Weeks at dp.weeks@vanderbilt.edu with questions.
