TCU's fall semester is around the corner, with classes beginning Aug. 24. Before we share a few important updates, we want to thank you for being such a valued part of our community. We appreciate the many ways our neighbors and nearby businesses welcome students and celebrate alongside us throughout the year. Below you'll find information about student move-in, events with fireworks and more.

Student Move-In
Students will be moving into residence halls over several days beginning Aug. 9, with the busiest days being Aug. 14 & 15. Click here for the Fall 2026 Move-In schedule.
What neighbors should know:
|
- Increased traffic around Amon G. Carter Stadium and residence halls beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 9 and continuing through noon on Aug. 19.
- W. Cantey Street will be closed at Stadium Drive.

Boyd Avenue and Highview Terrace at W. Cantey Street will be blocked.
- Areas near campus may experience increased traffic and parking impacts.

Marching Band Practice
The Horned Frog Marching Band is preparing for the start of the fall semester with its annual Band Camp and regular rehearsals. this year's rehearsals will take place in a new practice location shared with Campus Recreation intramural programs on the Intramural Fields located at 3400 W. Berry Drive.
What neighbors should know:

- Band Camp will take place Aug. 9-14, with increased marching band activity.
- The Horned Frog Marching Band rehearses Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 4p.m. - 6 p.m. once the semester begins.

Neighbors near the practice area may hear music and band instruction during rehearsal hours throughout the fall semester.

Frogs First Celebration
Frogs First is TCU’s welcome weekend for new students, with opportunities to build friendships, attend events and get involved in campus life. Frogs First culminates in a celebration in the Campus Commons Saturday, Aug. 22.
What neighbors should know:
|
- Expect amplified music audible on the west side of campus starting around 8:30 p.m.
- More than 2,500 first-year students will gather in the Campus Commons for activities and celebration, culminating in a fireworks display around 9:30 p.m. The event ends at 10 p.m.

No road closures are planned; normal campus traffic patterns remain in place.
