SunMark Bank Names The Middle Georgia Tar Wars Strike Force as September’s 'Casual Cause' |

The Georgia Healthy Family Alliance was recently named the September recipient of SunMark Bank’s “Casual Cause” fundraiser in support of the Middle Georgia Tar Wars Strike Force. The Tar Wars tobacco and vape prevention program was successfully implemented in Middle Georgia last school year with 5,500 students in the region learning about the true dangers of tobacco and vaping products.

This year in Clarke, Banks, and Cherokee counties, Halloween was about more than just costumes and eating too much candy. Trained Tar Wars presenters ⎼ including medical students from the AU/UGA Medical College of Georgia campus and Northeast Georgia Family Medicine Residents Dr. Shaina Alleyne and Dr. Nickeya Wynn ⎼ delivered the tobacco, nicotine, and vape prevention Tar Wars message as a part of Red Ribbon Week.
