If you are the instructor of record in Banner for a fall course, you should see that course in Canvas now. If you do not, check with your department to make sure you are listed as the instructor.
Here are a few things to keep in mind as you prepare your courses for your course delivery:
|
-
Reusing Content: If you would like to reuse content from a previous semester or master course you may import that content into your fall Canvas course. If you plan to import content from a course that previously used Zoom, please watch this video tutorial BEFORE importing your course content.
- Merging Course Sections: If you would like to cross-list (merge) your courses, please contact helpdesk@uah.edu for assistance.
-
Publish Your Course: Students appreciate having access to their courses for preparation and planning purposes. If possible, please try to publish your course/s at least 24-48 hrs before the first day of school.

Your syllabus is your students first contact with you. Here are some tips when reviewing your syllabus at the start of the year.
|
The university information section at the bottom of the UAH Syllabus Template has been updated. If you include this information in your syllabus, please update it. Remember the same information appears on the Syllabus page on Canvas, so you do not need to include it when you put your syllabus on that page.
Also, make sure you replace all the yellow highlighted information and delete the box at the top of the template.

There are many tools and resources available to support your courses. Rocketbook Beacons allow you to digitize what’s on your whiteboard and send it directly to a location of your choice such as email or Google Drive. You can share whiteboard content with remote students and snapcast for real-time collaboration. Students can scan content to reference later as study materials. Download the Rocketbook app to start using the beacons in your classroom.
The Student Success Center has ready-to-use Canvas modules that you can import into your courses. Topics include virtual learning, engaging in class, test-taking tips, and more! Locate the modules by typing “Student Success Center” in the Canvas Commons search bar and then import the content that suits your class.
