New Country, New Church led by Father Ed Smith in Wallace Hall |
How did the Episcopal Church find its footing in a newly independent America? Join us for a fascinating look at the Epsicopal church’s connections to the founding of our country and the challenges of establishing a church once closely tied to England. We’ll explore why having a bishop in America was such a controversial idea, ask whether a church can truly be Anglican without being aligned with England, and discover how the Episcopal Church developed differently across the colonies. Along the way, we’ll share some fun facts and surprising stories about the Church’s early history.

The Spiritual Keys of Recovery led by Shaun Shankel and guests - Gym |
Join us for our upcoming Adult Formation series, "The Spiritual Keys of Recovery," where we will explore the deep, transformative connection between Christian spirituality and the 12-step movement. These connections have deep roots in the Episcopal Church as the Rector of Calvary Church in New York worked with Bill W. to discern the core concepts of self-examination, confession, and restitution. We will discuss how the Twelve Steps continue to offer a powerful framework for healing and spiritual renewal today. Whether you are in recovery, supporting a loved one, or simply seeking a closer walk with God, all are welcome to discover these profound keys to transformation.

Since 1958, the Episcopal Church has opposed the death penalty as we acknowledge that all life is sacred.
A federal appeals court Wednesday morning halted the execution of Christa Pike on Tennessee’s death row about an hour before it was scheduled to be carried out.
In a last-minute decision, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth District said it needed to review claims that Christa Pike’s legal team made in a bid to stop her execution.
You are invited to pray with us at 6:00 pm tonight (weather permitting) in front of the bell where we will hold vigil.

Bountiful God, you call us to labor with you in tending the earth:
Where we lack love, open our hearts to the world;
where we waste, give us discipline to conserve;
where we neglect, awaken our minds and wills to insight and care.
May we with all your creatures honor and serve you in all things,
for you live and reign with Christ, Redeemer of all,
and with your Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
