Whitman Blues to Compete for National Championships
| |
The Whitman Blues women’s basketball team will compete at the University of Chicago in the NCAA Division III tournament this Friday, March 3 at 5:30 p.m. CT vs. the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The winners of 13 consecutive games, the Blues won the Northwest Conference (NWC) Tournament Title last weekend. Junior forward Korin Baker was named NWC Most Valuable Player while Michelle Ferenz was voted NWC Coach of the Year. NCAA Tournament information here.

Men’s swimmer Tanner Filion will defend his 2022 national championship at the March 15-18 national meet in Greensboro, NC. Filion is part of a Blues men’s swimming team that won the NWC Conference championship for the first time since 2017.

Candidates of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply, particularly alumni who identify as people of color, those who live in the San Francisco Bay area, and/or representatives from the 1970s and 1980s. Harper Joy Theatre presents Kissing the Witch
Harper Joy Theatre’s production of Kissing the Witch by Emma Donoghue, directed by Dr. Laura Hope, is coming up on March 2 - 5, 2023.
Adapted from her book of thirteen revisionist fairy tales of the same name, this play interweaves four classic plots - Beauty and the Beast, Donkeyskin, the Goose Girl, and the Little Mermaid.
