Library and Research Instruction |

Faculty, as the semester gets underway, we wanted to remind you that our librarians can direct your students to specific resources for research assignments, introduce them to archival materials, walk them through the research process, or help navigate digital scholarship tools. We can visit your classroom or host your class in the libraries. Find out more on our Library and Research Instruction page or reach out to your Subject Specialist Librarian.

Research & Information Ambassadors |
The Research & Information Ambassadors (RIAs) are student library-workers who are passionate about helping you get the most out of your college libraries. This year, we are excited to welcome four new RIAs to the library team — Julianne Cruz '27, Ethan Liang '26, Quinn Mass '28, and Sorrel Ricou '28. You can find the RIAs giving tours of McCabe, representing the Libraries at events, and sharing their stories on social media. To kick off the school year, they have curated a special welcome exhibition in the McCabe pop-up space on the ground floor. Come check it out and get acquainted with this cohort of library enthusiasts.

Liz Waltman (she/her) joined our community in August as the College's new Performing Arts Librarian. Outside of work, she makes music on the bass trombone and pursues some very stereotypical librarian hobbies, including: cross-stitching, crocheting, baking, and watching British murder mysteries. Liz always welcomes recommendations for the best spots to enjoy a walk in nature with a small dog!
What are you reading these days?
I have been working on Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver for about two months.

It is truly excellent, but I find myself needing to take frequent breaks since it deals with such heavy topics.
During the pauses, I enjoyed The Wedding People by Alison Espach, Vera Wong's Guide to Snooping (on a Dead Man) by Jesse Q. Sutanto, Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins, and Anxious People by Fredrik Backman.
