Spark Your Imagination: Iron Pour Sculpture Demo

TOMORROW, Oct. 31 | 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. | Calder Arts Center Sculpture Foundry (1820)

The Department of Visual and Media Arts is hosting an iron pour event, and all are welcome. Watch as sculpture students fire up the furnace and transform scrap iron into art. Don’t miss this fiery event!

A Halloween Trivia Night Spectacular!

A Halloween-themed trivia night will be held at the Kirkhof Center Lounge, featuring a variety of topics and a chance to win big! Join fellow students or fly solo for a game of trivia on the scariest night of the year!

All students are invited to attend a free dance performance by Dayton Contemporary Dance Company (DCDC). Founded in 1968, DCDC is celebrated for its deep roots in African American dance traditions and its compelling blend of modern, contemporary, ballet, and jazz. Discover powerful storytelling, expressive movement, and celebrate artistry at the Louis Armstrong Theatre!

Celebrating GVSU Homecoming

Nov. 3–8 

As alumni start flooding the campus for Homecoming next week, Campus Activities Board (CAB) is offering activities for current students to join in the fun!

Mark your calendars for Aux Cord Wars on Wednesday, November 5 at 7:30 p.m.! Watch contestants battle onstage in a game show format where you decide who’s got the best beats. You even have the chance to walk out with a new playlist and cash or prizes! Be sure to also check out other fun events like line dancing, crafts, a t-shirt swap, spirit days, and selfie station!

What's the best way to end homecoming week? By supporting our GVSU Lakers as they face off against the Michigan Tech Huskies on November 8 — the first 750 students at the stadium will get a free shirt! And don't forget to vote for your favorite GVSU Homecoming Royalty candidate by Friday, Nov. 7! Whew! Homecoming week is packed with Laker fun!

Give Back to Your Fellow Lakers: Campus Food Drive

In honor of Giving Tuesday, take this opportunity to donate to the Campus Food Drive. Replenish Basic Needs Center is collecting non-perishable items to give back to the GVSU community. The food drive runs through Dec 4, so there is plenty of time to donate if you are able.

The University Counseling Center is offering QPR Suicide Prevention training. This training is free for all students, staff, and community members. Learn more about how to discuss mental health topics, recognize warning signs, and keep your community safe.

GV Athletics is hosting our rivals on the Valley Campus this weekend, and they need your help to cheer on our Lakers!

Head to the GV Women’s Volleyball game on Nov. 1 and be one of the first 100 students to receive a free blue t-shirt.
