New Chat & Channels Experience in Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Service Change

Microsoft has announced that it will begin rolling out the new Chat & Channel Experience to WashU Microsoft Teams customers starting late-June.

 

What is the new experience?

Microsoft is changing the Teams interface, collapsing both Teams and Chat into one (1) menu. The left navigation bar will no longer contains Teams as Teams and channels will be included in Chat as shown below.

Favorites, Chats, and Teams and channels will be displayed in one menu, facilitating fast swapping.  Additionally, you can create your own custom sections to help organize your work.

When will I see the new chat and channels experience?

According to Microsoft's announcement we can expect to see the new chat and channels experience between late June and the end of July.
