Book Fair Summary
Almost 300 shoppers said they were shopping on our school’s behalf during our book fair weekend at Left Bank Books. We earned $900 in store credit and that, paired with your many wonderful book donations, allowed us to buy every book on our teachers’ wish lists (with a few exceptions for books that are out of print). Thank you so much for your generosity. Please note that if you ordered a book for our school, we are happy to pick it up on your behalf - we will be making many trips as books arrive at LBB. Speaking of books…
We love when students read books from our school’s collection! Please help us! If your student is actively reading a book from school, they may keep it as long as they would like. But if there might be school books under beds and at the bottom of backpacks, we would love to have those returned. If you would like to borrow books for the 2-week holiday, feel free to visit the Hub before or after school with your student/s!
Cold Weather Notes
The weather has turned for the winter! Please make sure that your students are coming to school with coat, hat, and gloves as well as appropriate shoes and socks! We try to get students outside as much as we can, and appropriate outdoor gear is essential. You might consider sending an extra pair of gloves to make sure that hands can stay warm all day!
Winter Performance
Please see the attached flyers for our Winter Performances! Grades 1-8 will perform December 12 at 2:00. Toddlers through Kindergarten will perform on December 19 at 2:30.
Playground Maintenance
During the rains in early November, it became clear that there was still a difficulty with the water drainage under the playground. We have uncovered the source of the problem and we are still investigating our solution options. The half of the playground that is affected will be closed soon to allow for repair workers to access the area. Thank you for your patience as we fix this problem! We are committed to getting the playground back in full operation as soon as possible!
