Season’s Greetings From UTA West

Wayne Atchley

As we close out 2025, I want to extend my sincere thanks to our community partners, residents, supporters, and the future students who have helped make this a truly foundational year for UTA West.

This year marked several important milestones. We celebrated our groundbreaking and received approval from the UT System for our first phase of construction, which includes essential infrastructure that will support future academic and community activity. These steps move us from vision to reality and would not be possible without the strong collaboration and support of our region.

Equally meaningful has been our engagement across the community. From the Parker County Peach Festival to the Fort Worth Parade of Lights and many other events, these moments reinforced that UTA West is being built with and for the communities we serve.

Looking ahead to 2026, we are excited to continue this momentum as construction progresses and plans for academic programs and partnerships take shape. We remain committed to creating a campus that expands access to education, supports regional workforce needs, and strengthens the vibrant communities of West Fort Worth and Parker County.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We look forward to what the coming year will bring and wish you a joyful holiday season and a prosperous new year.

Warm regards,

Wayne Atchley, Ed.D.
Vice President for Regional Campuses
The University of Texas at Arlington

In addition to Dr. Atchley's warm wishes, we want to share a few recent updates about UTA’s activities out west, including how we spread holiday cheer this season and a preview of what course offerings will be available in Parker County in 2026.

UTA West won the Cowtown Spirit Award at the 2025 GM Financial Fort Worth Parade of Lights for its stagecoach decked in blue and orange lights. President Cowley rode in the front of the stagecoach, and other Mavericks—UTA Wranglers and Blaze—joined the fun to foster even more UTA spirit.
