Serve on a Local Public Outreach Committee:
Share the Al-Anon Message |
Getting involved in a Public Outreach Committee—at the group, District, Area, or World Service Office (WSO) level—is a powerful way to carry the message and enhance our recovery. When we get busy, we get better, and by participating in outreach projects we learn to not do things alone while fostering harmony and unity.
By sharing our experience, strength, and hope, we make Al‑Anon and Alateen available to those in need. Join a committee and experience the joy of service. Check out the Al‑Anon/Alateen Public Outreach Service Guideline (G‑10) to find out more.

Invite a Professional to Observe
an Al-Anon Meeting |
Is your Al‑Anon group registered as a “Families, Friends, and Observers Welcome” meeting? If so, do you know anyone in the helping professions who might be interested in learning more about Al‑Anon Family Groups? Consider inviting them to attend an in‑person or online meeting to experience the warmth and support we can provide their patients or clients.

Celebrating Our Service Gifts
|
“Growing up in a Hispanic home affected by alcoholism, leadership was, at best, elusive. The louder, raging voice ruling with fear and control was the means for leading. I became a good people-pleaser, but I balked at any direction, and I froze at the thought of initiating anything. I rejected these things in my upbringing, believing they were simply a part of my culture…”

Calling Multilingual Members! |
Translating Al‑Anon Conference Approved Literature (CAL) into Spanish and French is just the beginning of the World Service Office’s international work with service structures across the globe who wish to translate and reprint our Al‑Anon CAL into their native languages. Part of this process includes an independent review of translated CAL to ensure it is faithful to the spiritual tone and message of the original.
If you are fluent in Farsi, Swahili, Arabic, Czech, or Mongolian as well as English and would be willing to serve as an independent reviewer, please email us with your contact information and the languages (other than Spanish or French) in which you have proficiency.

The Forum Needs Your Sharings about Our Three Legacies! |
Please consider writing about one of the Twelve Steps, Twelve Traditions, or Twelve Concepts of Service, as your World Service Office receives very few sharings about them. Submissions can range from about 200 to 400 words.
NOTE: Submissions in Spanish or French must be accompanied by an English translation. Submit online or send your articles to The Forum, 1600 Corporate Landing Parkway, Virginia Beach, VA 23454‑5617; or to wso@al‑anon.org.
