Greetings from the University of Sydney Centre for English Teaching (CET)

We hope this message finds you well and welcome to September's edition of CET's Partner update.

Graduate Academic Skills (GAS)

A reminder GAS is available for your client/s with an unconditional offer. GAS is strongly recommended for those who want to be prepared before they commence their degree.   The next GAS application/payments deadline is Friday 10 October 2025.

Key benefits:

• Transition successfully to university study in Australia.

• Develop academic and research skills applicable to all fields of study.

• Participate in university life before starting your degree.

• Connect with the University of Sydney and build peer networks before your degree
  starts.

Please ensure you provide the following documentation for your client/s in order for our Enrolments Team to issue an offer letter:

1. An unconditional University Offer and valid for the intended Semester.

2. A current valid copy of your passport.

3. Current and most recent official English test result.

Graduate Academic Skills (GAS), Direct Entry Course (DEC) 5 and DEC 25  are the next courses that will close on Friday 10 October 2025.  GAS, DEC 5 leads into Semester 1 2026 while DEC 25 leads to Semester 2 2026.  Please use CET DEC Package Availability to review DEC Package Course Information.

Please act immediately to confirm your place and commence visa processing.  Current visa processing time for 2025 can be as long as 12-16 weeks.

A reminder  DEC and GAS fees for 2026 will increase.  This has been necessary to manage rising internal costs that are essential for maintaining the high standards you and your clients expect from us. We appreciate your understanding and continued support in our partnership.

Please mark in your calendar seasonal break dates as follows:

CLOSED:  Friday 19 December 2025 - 1230pm

OPEN:  Tuesday 6 January 2026 - 900am

During this time CET will not be staffed, please ensure you finalise applications and payments. Reminder DEC15 payment deadline is 9 January 2026.
