Justin Gordon, Tobi Gordon (Teacher of the Month)   President Suzanne Mitchell
Teacher of the Month
In cooperation with the Mayor's office and City Council, the Rotary Club of Okla. City recognizes an outstanding teacher in our community.
Tobi Gordon has been named  a Top Five Finalist for District Teacher of the Year for the 2024-2025 school year by Moore Public Schools and Teacher of the Year for the 2024‑2025 school year by Brink Junior High School.
She received her Master of Art degree in Deaf Education from Flagler College and received her Bachelor of Arts and Science degree in Sign Language Interpreting from Siena Heights University  Tobi has taught deaf education across all subject areas at Brink Junior High School since 2022 and has served as a sign language interpreter across all subject areas and grade levels at Red Oak Elementary School.
Tobi is a member of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, is a member of the National Association of Interpreters in Education, is a member of the Oklahoma Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, and is member of the Association of College Educators—Deaf and Hard of Hearing and  has been recognized for her efforts at providing a quality education to her students by being awarded a Donors Choose grant to fund instructional resources.
Tobi strives to create a learning space where deaf students not only succeed academically and linguistically, but also helping them to build confidence, leadership skills, and a sense of belonging within their classroom environments and their community at large.
She believes that one of her greatest contributions to education centers around her ability to mentor and inspire student teachers and interpreters as they learn and seek to integrate deaf culture and learning within the classroom and to help these student teachers and interpreters learn to establish collaborative relationships with other educators so as to enhance the learning experiences for their students
Congratulations, Tobi!

"Fun Car Show"

Do you have a fun car or truck, one that causes people to give you a thumbs up when they see it?  The Member Engagement Committee thinks this would be a great "extra". The plan is to set up one Tuesday in June, plus a rain date, when we'll all drive ours to Rotary.  We'll put them on the front row at St. Luke's, arriving a little early and staying a little late, to give our fellow Rotarians a chance to look them over.  Please email or text  626-660-5446 Paul Moore with what you have, if you're willing to come play!
