Celebrating the Land, the Place, and the People

Hello friends, 

Forty years ago, the Center acquired its country land in Springwater NY. In the photo above, Toni Packer, who founded the Center with a group of enthusiastic supporters, is exploring the old farm road that once led up from Marrowback Road.

The next year, in the spring of 1984, the great endeavor began of building a place for meditative retreats.  

In the intervening years a multitude of people have worked, lived, visited and retreated here. Their interest and energy created and sustained a place that hundreds of people now cherish and hold dear. 

As we head into 2024, please consider donating to help keep the Center in good condition and available for everyone with an interest in meditative inquiry.

Membership in the Center is a way to offer ongoing support. At the same time, it provides many benefits including lower guest and retreat fees as well as free member guest nights. Click here for more information about membership.

General Donations provide the extra help needed to keep the facility well maintained and functioning. The Center is making an effort to acquire more sustainable equipment, including a hybrid vehicle, two hybrid water heaters and new energy-efficient windows. The need to replace the furnace boiler installed in 1993 and the old plow truck is on the horizon. General donations help with major expenses like these.  

The Retreat Assistance Fund is available to individuals interested in meditative inquiry and retreats who are not able to afford the full retreat fees. A donation to this fund makes it possible for everyone to be able to participate in and benefit from the meditative work we offer.

Development Fund donations will help bring to completion the current phase of construction of the garage/barn. It needs more insulation, wallboard and a source of heat. We are seeking $8,000 to undertake this work.
