Hello Pratt community,
I hope you all have enjoyed your first week of classes. If you’re looking for opportunities outside of the classroom to meet others in the Pratt community, I encourage you to attend the Welcome Back to Pratt event today (find details below).
Also, I would like to draw attention to some upcoming financial awareness classes. September 11-14 is Duke’s Financial Fitness Week. The week will feature 16 free, live webinars led by Duke Human Resources, Fidelity, the Duke Federal Credit Union, the Social Security Administration, Lincoln Financial Group and Mercer on topics ranging from investment strategies to planning for retirement. If you are interested in registering, click here. We will also be hosting a more intimate financial awareness class on September 27 that is focused on spending habits. If you are interested in learning more, please email pratt_diversity@duke.edu for more information.
If you have questions or suggestions, please contact me.

Maclin Endowment Fund Can Cover Unexpected Educational Costs |
The vision of the Maclin Fund is that no eligible Pratt School of Engineering undergraduate should miss out on educational growth because of costs not covered by financial aid. (Attending a conference, flying to an interview, taking a workshop, or repairing a computer, for example.) The fund was created through the generosity of Valecia Maclin E’92. Visit pratt.duke.edu for more information and to apply »
|
The WIN Empowerment Fund was created through the generosity of the Pratt School of Engineering group within the Duke Women's Impact Network (WIN), whose mission is to encourage leadership and philanthropy among women and the friends of WIN. The WIN Empowerment Fund makes direct and positive impacts on the lives of financial-aid-receiving students by helping cover expenses such as graduate exam and application fees or professional attire. For more information and to apply, please visit pratt.duke.edu/alumni-giving/giving/win-fund.
