In light of the recent executive orders following President Trump’s inauguration, we know many of you and the families you serve are facing uncertainty. We want you to know that the Denver Preschool Program stands with you. Our commitment remains unchanged: ensuring every child in Denver has access to high-quality early learning, no matter the challenges ahead.
We will continue to provide tuition support and other resources for our families and childcare providers. Thanks to the voters of Denver, DPP was indefinitely funded in 2023 through a portion of city sales tax; hence, DPP is not dependent on federal funding.
Together, we have faced uncertain times before. The COVID-19 pandemic tested us in ways we never expected, yet through collaboration, resilience, and innovation, we adapted to support children and families in new and meaningful ways. We learned valuable lessons about flexibility, communication, and advocacy—lessons we will apply as we navigate this new landscape.
