Neuroplasticity — the brain’s ability to change and grow — thrives on challenge. Learning a new language, trying a hobby, or doing puzzles keeps neurons firing and helps protect against cognitive decline. Just like muscles, your brain strengthens through use, especially when you step outside your comfort zone. Try switching up your routine, taking a different route to work, playing a strategy game, or practicing mindfulness — all of which stimulate new neural pathways. Even small doses of mental challenge each day can sharpen focus, improve memory, and keep your mind adaptable and resilient as you age.
