The Kansas Board of Regents named five KU professors among its 2025 Faculty of the Year award recipients. The program recognizes the outstanding contributions of faculty at state universities to teaching, student success, research and Kansas communities. KU faculty winners represent the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, School of Engineering and KU Medical Center.

KU will host an event during Family Weekend to celebrate the conclusion of a major revitalization project for Potter Lake. The event will include brief remarks by Chancellor Douglas A. Girod and special guests, and a cardboard boat regatta will follow the program.

Jayhawks Talk is an interactive training in suicide prevention and crisis response specifically created for college faculty and staff. Presenters are Emily Kubalik, senior staff clinician and suicide prevention coordinator, Counseling and Psychological Services, and Jeffrey Stolz, mental health and well-being director, Human Resources.

Apply for an AI Course Integration Grant
Priority deadline Sept. 23
The Center for Teaching Excellence seeks proposals for grants of up to $2,000 from faculty and instructors to support student-centered integration of generative artificial intelligence into courses for the 2025-26 year. Awardees will also participate in a learning community to help them develop their ideas and course materials.
