NJCU Writers Work Presents Angel Eduardo |
Tuesday, April 29, 2025 | 12:45-2:00 p.m.
Gilligan Student Union 129 |
Join us for our next session of NJCU Writers Work, featuring alumnus Angel Eduardo '08.
Angel is a writer, musician, and visual artist based in New York City, best known for coining the rhetorical term star-manning. He works as Senior Writer & Editor for the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE), and serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Foundation Against Intolerance & Racism (FAIR).
Angel graduated from NJCU with a major in Psychology and a minor in Creative Writing, which led him to join an extended community of NJCU writers and artists called The ReCollective, which met regularly for workshops and readings in the Jersey City area. He followed his passion for this work by pursuing a graduate degree at CUNY Hunter College in New York, where he earned a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing.
Angel's writing has been featured in The Free Press, Quillette, Persuasion, and Newsweek Opinion, and a blog for the Center for Inquiry titled Searching for Better Angels, where he writes on topics such as science, morality, communication, and skepticism.
In the social realm, Angel advocates for a compassionate, honest, and civil approach to discourse, even when we’re incentivized to bare our teeth and dig in our heels. Through his work he hopes to foster more productive conversations on the topics of the day, all bolstered by his own six words of advice: "Be kind; we’re all first drafts."
See more of his work on his website, AngelEduardo.com. This event is co-sponsored by Learning without Limits and the Center for Career and Professional Development.

Attendees will discuss innovative strategies for integrating AI ethically into STEM teaching while addressing issues such as presence, quality, and the development of community partnerships.
